The Studio is here because personal photography has had an amazingly positive impact on my life. When my husband and I blended six children into a family almost 20 years ago, I began to consciously use photography to strengthen our identity. I found that keeping up-to-date and accessible photo albums helped us relive the positive activities—both big and small—we were doing to bring us closer. All the kids enjoyed looking at them frequently—even the teenagers! When I learned about digital scrapbooking a few years ago, I was intrigued. I had never been a “scrapbooker” but had created simple albums faithfully. And I already worked with Adobe Photoshop professionally, so there was virtually no software learning curve. But I couldn’t find the types of digital products that I wanted: modern, contemporary designs using classic colors. My first thought was to create digital products for existing digital scrapbooking sites. But I quickly realized I wanted to share my designs in a way that would be fast and easy for customers who, like me, wanted to spend just snippets of time and end up with beautiful, modern albums. And I wanted to offer more than just products; I wanted to offer simple information my customers would need to truly unlock the potential of their photography—for a lifetime. This is why I spent over a year doing research, ultimately creating 10 Quick Tips and the World’s Simplest Photoshop Elements Tutorials—where you'll learn just enough to create great digital scrapbook pages. And I loved the idea that I could help my customers begin design careers by creating modern albums for customers, and by offering personal training in modern digital scrapbooking. The Digital Design Consultant carries out our mission beautifully. I would love to hear from you about what you think of the Studio, and what you would like to see here.
